2 McLaren Hospital Projects Recently Completed

Homefront Nonprofit Adult Group Homes

Project Description: SyDesign was retained by Homefront Nonprofit Inc. as the architect for 2 adult group homes in Port Huron, MI.  The homes were designed and engineered to meet the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) guidelines in order to fulfill the terms of the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant used to fund the construction.  The houses were constructed with Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), a horizontal geothermal field, and many other green features.  Along with the typical design services, SyDesign wrote monthly field reports to HUD in order to receive payment approval.  SyDesign was also responsible for documentation and administration of the LEED rating process.  The homes are currently awaiting their final LEED score and it is anticipated that they will achieve LEED Gold ratings.
