Lake Huron Residence

SyDesign was contracted to design a Master Suite renovation for this Lake Huron residence in 2014.  The plan called for the demolition 2 existing bedrooms and 1 bathroom right down to the framing.  Spray foam insulation and a new HVAC system were installed to bring the existing portion of the home up to current energy codes.

The new master bath features a steam shower with 3 body spray jets and a built in shower seat.  Adjacent to the shower is a large whirlpool tub with 6 hydromassage jets and chromatherapy lighting.  Two vanities on opposite sides of the bathroom allow for two people to comfortably use the bathroom at the same time.  A raised ceiling with cove lighting adds an additional layer interest to the room.

The master closet features floor to ceiling, built in cabinets and a 10' vaulted ceiling.  The bedroom focuses on the view of Lake Huron with tall windows across the entire East wall.  A vaulted ceiling adds to the open feeling achieved from the open view to the lake.

Along with the Master Suite renovation, some changes were made to the main entry of the home to fit the style of the new suite.  The stair treads and risers were replaced to match the modern feel and an aluminum and wood railing along with new lighting became the focal point of the entry.  The wall along the East side of the stair was removed to open the view to Lake Huron for visitors as they enter the home.
