YMCA Site Development

Owner: City of Port Huron
Project Size: 4 Acres
Date Completed: Conceptual Project 2009

Project Description: SyDesign was retained by The City of Port Huron to develop a conceptual plan for a condominium building and parking garage to replace the vacated YMCA building. As the project developed, SyDesign chose to add a mixed used development on an open lot adjacent to the site to tie the project into the existing urban fabric. The orientation of the condo tower and it’s shape, as well as the orientation of the lofts in the mixed use development allow for all units to have views of the river. The mixed use development is situated in a way that it forms a public square that can be used as outside dining for surrounding restaurants, public park space, and a farmers market.
